PocketBook introduces its new Verta line of 6-inch e-readers, bringing together two screen options, both with interchangeable back panel: Verta with a classic greyscale E Ink Carta™ 1300 display, and Verta Color with an E Ink Kaleido™ 3 color screen. Rather than committing to one finish, users can personalize their device by replacing the standard back panel with a color option on their choice to match their mood or outfit.
Whether readers prefer classic black-and-white E Ink or color ePaper with 4,096 colors, both Verta models offer an eye-safe, glare-free, and energy-efficient reading experience. Beyond the screen, both Verta and Verta Color are among the earliest PocketBook models to introduce advanced reading settings, offering variety of features for everyday reading and listening, including audiobooks via Bluetooth, Text-to-Speech with lifelike voices, open cloud service, DRM support, and PocketBook x Libby app for online e-books borrowing.

Verta features a classic greyscale E Ink Carta™ 1300 display, while Verta Color uses E Ink Kaleido™ 3 color screen supporting 4,096 colors. Both screens offer an eye-safe, glare-free reading experience designed to feel closer to paper than a traditional LCD or OLED display. There is no harsh backlight competing with the page – reflective E Ink screens use ambient light rather than shining directly into the reader’s eyes. And because ePaper only consumes power when the page changes, both models can run for up to two months on a single charge. From classic black-and-white to color E Ink, both models offer the same eye-friendly approach to reading on a paper-like display.
Audiobooks and Text-to-Speech, all in one
A good book does not have to stay on the page. Verta and Verta Color let readers listen to audiobooks and other audio content through Bluetooth headphones or speakers, while with the Text-to-Speech feature the device can read written content aloud with natural-sounding voices. It means a book can stay with the reader while travelling, walking, cooking, or taking care of everyday tasks. With just a few taps, users can switch from reading to listening and pick up the story wherever they left off.
Water protection and SMARTlight for reading anywhere
With adaptive SMARTlight and IPX4 water-splash protection, the e-reader is ready for different lighting conditions and everyday moments wherever reading happens. SMARTlight adjusts brightness and color temperature to suit the time of day, while Dark Mode offers another way to set the display for comfortable reading. Advanced Reading Settings for EPUB, FB2, PDF & more
Verta and Verta Color are among the first PocketBook models to feature new Advanced Reading Settings, which make every book look exactly the way you want it to. Pick your font, size and style, adjust margins, line spacing, paragraph spacing and alignment down to the smallest detail – or let the device set them automatically. A fully customizable reading screen may be set to show only the information you need: page count, reading progress, chapter countdown, etc.
The e-reader also offers additional display adjustments for fine-tuning the page’s optical properties. In addition to contrast and brightness, gamma control helps achieve sharper, more clearly defined text and a more balanced overall appearance.
Open ecosystem, popular formats, DRM support
Verta keeps the reading experience open, giving users the freedom to get books from different stores. Its support for 25 popular ebook formats means most content can be loaded and read as it is, without converting files first. Adobe DRM and LCP DRM support also open the door to protected ebooks, including titles borrowed from public libraries through the pre-installed PocketBook x Libby app. Through the PocketBook Reader app, Cloud synchronises the reading position and library across e-reader, a smartphone, and web platform, allowing users to switch between devices and continue reading where they left off.
